Flu Vaccinations 2020

This year, more than ever, it is important to get the flu vaccine.

We continue to offer appointments for our patients aged 65 years and over, and patients under 65 years with an eligible health condition. You should have received already received a letter inviting you to get the flu vaccine. Please contact us at 0131-3703999 to book your appointment.

For Pre-School Flu Vaccines, if your child is aged two to five years old and has not yet started school then you should book an appointment with the Childhood Immunisations Team by telephoning 07766922751. You can phone between 9am and 12noon until 27th November. We are sorry, but we cannot book the appointments at our practice. 

B12 Injections

B12 injections for our patients are delivered by the Treatment Room Nursing team at Bonnyrigg Health Centre. If you require a B12 injection, please contact the Bonnyrigg Health Centre Community Desk at 0131-5379945 to arrange an appointment with the Treatment Room team. 

Seeing your GP - Important Notice

To prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, Dalhousie Medical Practice has needed to reduce the number of patients entering our building and has had to limit face to face access to the practice. 

However, we still want you to contact us by telephone if you need to speak to a GP and are worried about your health. Ordering Medication by Email during COVID-19

You can now email the practice for medication requests or repeat prescriptions. Please email your request, plus your name, date of birth and address to

Please ensure that you re-order your repeat medication in plenty of time. A repeat prescription will be processed and available at your request pharmacy 5 working days from the date of receipt at the practice. For non repeat prescriptions, please allow seven working days.

Minor Ailment Service

Please be aware that the community pharmacy Minor Ailment Service has now been extended to allow anyone registered with a GP practice, who has a minor illness or a common condition, to speak to a member of the pharmacy team for advice and treatment without the need to see a GP. To understand more about minor ailments

New Patient Registrations

Due to the unprecedented demands on our GP services we have had to restrict when new patients are able to register with the Practice. 

With effect from 1 February 2020 we shall only accept registrations from 11am to 5pm Tuesday to Thursday for eligible patients. 

We have a duty of care to prioritise registrations for patients who are new to the area and not already registered with a local GP Practice.  We do not operate a waiting list for those wishing to join our list.  Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
